My Story

Sports were a huge part of my childhood. By far, my favorite sport was (and is) Track & Field, which I started competing in at 9 years old. My freshman year of high school, I developed terrible knee pain that nobody could figure out. As soon as I started jogging, the pain would send me to the ground. I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to run track anymore. I told my friend about it, who was beginning to learn a technique called CPK. He offered to look at my knee, and after a 30 minute treatment, I went outside, jogged with no pain, and never felt the pain again.

As time went on and CPK continued to help when nothing else did, I decided to learn how to do it so I could help others like I'd been helped. I got my doctorate in Chiropractic from Logan University in 2011 and practiced in Denver for 3 years. I took a hiatus from practicing when we moved to Nebraska for family reasons, but I'm excited to be back!

I also have several other hobbies and passions that I've been lucky enough to pursue over the years. I own my own photography business called Genesis Photography.  I also love to hike, snowboard, scuba dive, read, and play trivia. My husband and I have 2 awesome kids, 1 loyal dog, and 2 cranky cats. :)

  • CPK stands for Chiro Plus Kinesiology. It was created over 40 years ago by a chiropractor who was frustrated with the standard treatment protocol and its lack of long-lasting results in his patients. He created CPK with the goal of treating the highest number of complaints with the highest success rate.

CPK combines the procedures and philosophies of several forms of alternative medicine:

Acupressure: a gentle therapy that uses touch and pressure on specific points along the body’s meridians. Like acupuncture, it helps restore balance, relieve tension, and support natural healing without the use of needles.

Autonomic Response Testing (ART): a form of biofeedback that helps locate stress points in the body that are affecting the autonomic nervous system and potentially causing health issues.

Clinical Kinesiology: a holistic approach that helps identify the cause of the ART stress responses in the body. By identifying those causes, it can guide the practitioner to potential treatments.

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT): a gentle chiropractic method that focuses on the relationship between the sacrum (base of the spine) and the occiput (base of the skull). Using specialized wedge-shaped blocks,  SOT aims to restore spinal motion, which nourishes the spinal joints and discs.

  •    CPK is a gentle, holistic technique that can be used on people of all ages and activity levels.

  • While there is no magic bullet treatment for all conditions and all people, CPK has had success over the last several decades in treating these, and many other conditions:

    • Muscle and joint pain

    • Heartburn

    • Plantar fasciitis

    • Digestive issues

    • Sciatica

    • Sports injuries

    • Back & neck pain

    • Carpal tunnel

    • Headaches

    • Skin issues (eczema, rashes, etc)

    • Ear infections

    • Dizziness & vertigo

    • Allergies

    • Sleep issues

If you're looking for an alternative or addition to the treatments you've tried before, I recommend giving CPK a try!

  • I like to describe practicing CPK as trying to solve a crime. :) Sometimes, the culprit of a symptom isn't as obvious as it may seem. CPK allows me to follow a trail of "bread crumbs" by using stress responses in the body to guide us to underlying issues.

Many times, the culprit may be somewhere or something that is totally unexpected. The body is a beautiful and complicated thing, and CPK allows me to tailor the treatment to each person specifically, instead of using a cookie-cutter adjusting approach on everyone. Your treatment will be different at every appointment, depending on your body that day.

CPK is also a low-force technique, which means there's no fast twisting or popping of joints. We believe that the best and longer-lasting way to adjust a joint is to use slow, sustained pressure on the joint and its surrounding tissues, like ligaments and muscles. I also use wedge-shaped blocks to adjust the pelvis, which is a slow and gentle adjustment.

CPK takes a very holistic view at the body. This may mean that I'll recommend cutting out a certain food group, sitting on a couch differently, taking a specific supplement, or adding a quick meditation practice to your morning routine. 99% of your day is spent outside of my office, and the choices you make out there absolutely effect the results that you'll get from CPK or any other treatment.

  • The first appointment will take the longest, and that includes a new patient assessment and report of findings. As long as you're ready, we'll also do the first treatment that day. In total, this appointment will take about an hour.

Subsequent appointments take roughly 20 minutes, and you should be in and out of the office within 30 minutes.

  • Resonate Wellness is a "cash" practice, which means payment is due on the day of your appointment. That being said, you can use FSA/HSA accounts to pay for these appointments, and you also have the option to submit your bill to your insurance company and potentially receive reimbursement directly.

  • The new patient exam and report of findings has a cost of $80. Individual treatments are $70. Discounts are given if 6+ treatments are purchased up-front.

  • The recommended frequency of your visits depends on several things:

    • The severity of your symptoms

    • Your overall health & other underlying conditions

    • Your activity level and how often you do things that may aggravate those symptoms

For new patients coming in with a significant complaint, the initial treatment plan often includes:
    - 2 treatments per week for 2 weeks
    - 1 treatment per week for 4 weeks, then
    - 2 treatments per month for 2 months.

This totals up to 12 visits within about 3  1/2 months. After that, it's common to be treated once every 3-6 weeks.

  • Everyone responds differently to CPK treatments, especially when they're new. Some people will feel a little sore for a couple days before improving, others will start to feel better immediately, and some may not feel any difference for a few visits.

There is no "silver bullet" treatment that works on all people and all conditions. With that said, I won't work on a person if I don't believe that we've got a significant chance of improvement. If we're not seeing a noticeable improvement after 4 visits, I'll likely recommend some sort of change or addition to your treatment protocol, which could include a referral to another practitioner.
